Knights round out season play with sweep of Northeast

The North Platte Community College Knights volleyball team ended its regular season with a home sweep of Northeast Community College Saturday morning. The scores were: 25-20, 26-24 and 25-23.

Morgan Ramsey, of Bartlett, and Payton Hoatson, of Sutherland, each had nine kills in the game while Madi Neely, of Broken Bow, had eight. Neely also accomplished four serving aces.

Allie Schneider, of Humphrey, went for 17 digs, and Tessa Metschke, of Chambers, added 14. Schneider also contributed 33 assists.

"I was pleased with our response after last night," said NPCC Head Volleyball Coach Alexa McCall. "We played really tough at the end of sets two and three. We also had some kids step in and play well in positions they aren't used to. I thought Tessa played well today for us in the libero position. Hopefully, this give us momentum going into next week."

The win puts the Knights at 17-13 on the season.

They earned the right to host the Region IX Championship Game, which will take place at 3 p.m. Oct. 30 in the McDonald-Belton Gymnasium. They will play the winner of the match between Southeast Community College and Central Community College.
