Knights quell Southeast Storm

The North Platte Community College Knights beat Southeast Community College 3-1 Tuesday evening in Beatrice. The set scores were 28-30, 25-15, 25-20 and 25-19.

Katy Bartell, of Eustis, went for 23 digs in the game. Kim Krise, of Briggsdale, Colo., had 16 kills followed by Avery Johnson, of Hayes Center, with 10. Allie Schneider, of Humphrey, added 39 assists.

"We had ourselves in position to win multiple times in set one and just couldn't come out on top," said NPCC Head Volleyball Coach Alexa McCall. "I would like to see us do a better job of earning points instead of relying on our opponents' errors. I'm glad we responded in the following sets and got the job done against this region team."

The win brings the Knights to 15-11 on the season.

They will head west for their next match. The Knights play Northeastern Junior College at 7 p.m. (CT) Friday in Sterling, Colo.
