Knights drop doubleheader in Norfolk

The Northeast Triangular proved to be a tough one for the North Platte Community College Knights Volleyball team Wednesday in Norfolk. 

The Knights fell in their first match to the North Iowa Area Community College Trojans with sets of 21-25, 13-25 and 23-25. 

Morgan Ramsey, of Bartlett, had 10 kills in the game, and Kim Krise, of Briggsdale, Colo., had six. Allie Schneider, of Humphrey, added 10 digs and 16 assists. 

The Knights then took on Northeast Community College – pushing the Hawks to five sets. The scores were: 25-21, 19-25, 18-25, 25-19 and 13-15. 

Katy Bartell, of Eustis, went for 35 digs in the match. Schneider put down 47 kills, while Krise racked up 15; Avery Johnson, of Hayes Center, had 13; Ramsey contributed 10 and Madi Neely, of Broken Bow, tallied nine. 

The Knights are now 11-11 on the season. 

Friday, they will return to Columbus, where they played earlier in the week, for a doubleheader against Fort Scott Community College at 3 p.m. and then Neosho County Community College at 5 p.m.

 They will take on Fort Scott a second time at 9 a.m. Saturday in Columbus. That game will be followed by an 11 a.m. match against Marshalltown Community College.
