McCook takes the win against NPCC

A home court advantage wasn't enough for the North Platte Community College volleyball team Tuesday night. The Knights fell to McCook Community College 2-3 following a nail-biter of a game.

The Knights started out strong – downing MCC 25-17 and 25-20 in the first two sets before the tides turned in favor of McCook.

MCC came back strong in the second half – besting North Platte 25-22 in the third set, 25-17 in the fourth and 15-12 in the match final.

Kim Krise, of Briggsdale, Colo., led the Knights with 15 kills and 12 digs. Her teammates, Avery Johnson, of Hayes Center, and Madi Neely, of Broken Bow, had nine and seven kills, respectively. Allie Schneider, of Humphrey, dished out 29 assists.

"We did some great things and then just let momentum get the best of us," said NPCC Head Volleyball Coach Alexa McCall. "Mentally, I wish we could have executed a bit better. We had some really solid blocking in the first two sets, and that helped us defensively. We just have to look at this game and grow."

The Knights are now 7-5 on the season.

Their next match will also be at home. They take on Central Community College at 6 p.m. Sept 15. A livestream will be available at: npccknights.com/watch_live for those unable to attend in person.
