NPCC Volleyball begins McCook tourney with one win, one loss

The North Platte Community College volleyball team notched another match win Friday at the McCook Community College Tournament in McCook.

The Knights defeated Otero Junior College in four sets: 25-16, 17-25, 25-19 and 25-12.

"It was good to start out this weekend with a win," said NPCC Head Volleyball Coach Alexa McCall. "We were pretty inconsistent but still found a way to get things done."

The Knights were then defeated by Hutchinson Community College in five sets. The scores were: 25-17, 20-25, 22-25, 25-13 and 10-15.

"We battled hard against Hutch," McCall said. "They had some solid hitters, and we played really scrappy defense. We also served really well and had 10 serving aces. I hope we can learn from this game and take it into tomorrow."

The Knights are now 6-3 on the season.

Tourney play will continue Saturday at 10 a.m. when the Knights go up against Lamar Community College. They will face Midland College at 2 p.m.
