NPCC Volleyball wins first match of Norfolk tourney

A weekend tournament in Norfolk started out strong for the North Platte Community College Knights volleyball team Friday.

The Knights took on Garden City Community College at the Northeast Volleyball Tournament and won in five sets: 25-20, 25-13, 27-29, 25-27 and 19-17.

The Knights are now 3-2 on the season.

"We looked really good in the first set and then just lost our consistency," said NPCC Head Volleyball Coach Alexa McCall. "I'm glad we came out with the win, but I'm looking for us to clean up some of our play to be a little more complete for a whole game. I did think we served really well, which helped us on some runs."

Tournament play continues Saturday at 11 a.m. against Williston State College. The Knights will then take on Northeast Community College at 3 p.m.
