Knights wrap up inaugural season at North Central District Championship

Waterloo, Iowa – The North Platte Community College men's golf team wrapped up their inaugural season on Tuesday afternoon at Gates Park Golf Course in Waterloo, Iowa. Knights finished the tournament 90-over par to finish in 11th place in the team standings.

Sophomore Jayden Jones led the way despite carding an 82 (+10) in the final round. Jones opened the first day with a strong 36-hole performance to position himself in the top half of the field. A difficult back nine in the final round dropped him to a tie for 42nd place at the conclusion of the tournament.

David Winkelmann was the lone Knights golfer to improve his score every round of the tournament. Winkelmann saved his best round for last shooting a 74 (+2) to catapult him up the standings to finish tied for 45th place.

Freshman Taytom Timbers closed out the final round with an 81 (+9) to finish 25-over par in a tie for 49th place. Caeson Clarke rounded out the Knights three round scorers shooting an 83 in the final round to finish tied for 53rd place.
