Jones leads Knights to seventh place finish at Mount Marty Invite

Yankton, S.D. – Jayden Jones used an even par second round to vault himself to a seventh-place finish at the Mount Marty Invite on Wednesday.

Jones paced the Knights in the first round, shooting 80 (+8) to tie for 22nd through the opening 18 holes. He rebounded on the second day to shoot a round low 72, which catapulted him into the top ten. His effort helped propel North Platte to a two-round score of 646, which earned them a seventh-place finish in the team standings.

David Winkelmann, Treyten York and Caeson Clarke each bested their opening round scores, as they climbed into the top 35 by the end of the final round.

"It was a good start to the season," said head coach Will Peers. "I'm proud of all the guys for battling when things weren't going our way."

The Knights will continue their fall season on Sept. 19 at the Elks Country Club in Columbus.
