Knights suffer setback on the road

Lamar, Colo. – North Platte fell to Lamar Community College 93-79 in Region IX South action on Friday night.

Parker Baumann led the Knights with 19 points on 7-of-16 shooting from the field. Emmanuel Oladeru recorded his third double-double on the year, tallying 11 points and 10 rebounds in 31 minutes.

A ten-point halftime deficit was stretched to 52-39 with 17:19 to play in the second half. North Platte trimmed the margin inside ten on a pair of free throws by Bryce Baez, but Lamar quickly stretched their lead back into double digits.

The Knights finally hit their stride offensively as the clock moved inside the final ten minutes. A 10-3 run, capped off by a Landon Broer three pointer cut the margin to 73-69 with 5:44 to play. Lamar retaliated down the stretch outscoring the Knights 20-10 to secure the win.

North Platte (11-12, 2-5 Region IX South) returns to the McDonald-Belton Gymnasium to take on McCook Community College on Tuesday, Feb. 13. Tip is set for 7 p.m.
