Knights fall to Broncos on the road

Hastings, Neb. – Hot perimeter shooting propels Hastings College JV over North Platte Community College 81-75 on Tuesday night.

North Platte trailed 44-32 in the early moments of the second half, before a 12-2 run capped off by an Emmanuel Oladeru offensive putback cut the deficit to two. A straightaway three halted the momentum shift as the lead was quickly pushed back to five with 13:32 to play.

A short burst helped the Knights narrow the margin to 57-56, before the Broncos extended their lead back into double digits inside seven minutes to play. North Platte managed to trim the margin to five with 3:05 remaining, but Hastings never relinquished their hold on the lead in the closing stages of the game and closed out the victory.

North Platte (3-4) will return to road action on Friday in Wyoming. Tip is set for 8:30 p.m. against Laramie County Community College at the Storey Gymnasium in Cheyenne.
