Women’s Basketball: Knights Defeat Raiders

The Central Community College women's basketball team lost to North Platte Community College, 76-56, on Saturday at the Raider Fieldhouse.

The Knights outscored the Raiders in the opening quarter, 16-11, and went on to hold a 39-25 halftime advantage. In the second half, NPCC built a 25-point lead, its biggest of the game, before leaving town with the 76-56 victory.

"North Platte did a good job being physical and playing with good energy," said CCC head coach Billy Perkins. "We never got anything going."

Nyamiri Blair led CCC in scoring with 16 points off the bench while Madisen Jelinek and Brittney Veik each scored 10 points apiece.

The loss gives the Raiders an 8-10 season mark.

Up next, CCC will travel to Crete on Friday to take on the Doane University JV. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
