Softball: Raiders Split at North Platte

The Central Community College softball team split a double-header at North Platte Community College on Saturday. A recap of both games is below. The Raiders are 12-16 on the season and will host the Concordia University JV in a double-header on Monday at Raider Field. Game times are 2 and 4 p.m.

Game 1: Central Community College 13  North Platte Community College 10

The Raiders posted a 13-10 come-from-behind win over the Knights on the strength of nine runs scored over the fifth and sixth innings. Kenzie Bonner, Andrea Fernandez and Kaylee McNeese each recorded a homerun while Katie Paczosa logged a triple. CCC starting pitcher Payten Gibson struck out three NPCC batters before picking up her second win.

Game 2: North Platte Community College 14  Central Community College 6

The Knights got even in the second game with a 14-6 victory over the Raiders. North Platte held Central scoreless over the final three innings and scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. As in the first game, Bonner tallied a homerun along with Emma Lees and Paczosa. Three CCC pitchers surrendered 19 runs.
