Diao, Summers, and Michael receive postseason awards

North Platte, Neb. – A trio of North Platte Community College men's basketball student-athletes have been named to the Region IX and Nebraska Community College Athletic Conference teams.

Mo Diao was named as an All-Region IX second team honoree, while Trey Summers was honored as an honorable mention selection.

Diao and Summers were also named to the NCCAC team alongside freshman guard Justus Michael.

Diao led Region IX South in rebounds (8.1) and blocks per game (3.4). Diao ended the season with a 52.8 field goal percentage, scoring in double figures 22 times during his 27 game appearances this past season.

Summers closed out the season, ranked 13th in the Region IX South in total rebounds (122) and sixth with an 82.4 free throw percentage. The sophomore transfer guard averaged four assists per game to rank third in region.

Freshman Justus Michael had a three-point percentage of 33.7 and a field goal percentage of 45.0. Michael scored in double digits in 21 of his 29 game appearances.

Head coach Jacob Brandl was named NCCAC Coach of the Year. Brandl started his first season with the Knights going 19-12 overall and 7-5 in conference play.
